More Information
When will practices be held and when are the games? Young Tiger Football will begin practicing in late August at Fribley Field. The Young Tiger Cheerleaders will also begin practicing in late August. All home games are on Saturdays at Fribley Field on E. Market St. in September and October. The Marshall County Junior Football League will release a schedule to us by the end of August. Cheerleaders and football players practice at the same time/same days, rain OR shine. IF IT IS LIGHTENING OUT there will be NO PRACTICE! If we have to cancel a practice, it will be announced on radio channel WRSW 107.3. FM
Where are the games played? Young Tiger Football and Cheerleading is a travel club. The games will be mixed between away games and home games on our football field. The "David Fribley Football Field" is home to Young Tiger Football. The field is located on Market Street in Warsaw, next to the Dollar General Store and Richardson Dubois Park.
Can my son and daughter be on the same team? If you have a son/daughter who wants to play football and a daughter that wants to be involved with cheerleading, we will try to place them on the same team.
What is expected of my child? We do ask for a commitment from the children AND their parents. It is important that your child attend all practices and games. If they are a no show, it really leaves their teammates out to hang. Remember, every child has a key part in the program, and we depend on one another. We expect that the child is at the practice/game on time and gets picked up on time afterwards.
Oppurtunities for involvement: The Parents Club is another great way to show your support for your child and our club. Be sure to get more information at sign ups. Our coaches talk to the players AND their parents at the end of each practice and each game. If you have any questions, please talk to the coach then.
Why do we signup so early? Equipment plays a key part in enrollment. It takes a long time to receive the equipment and we want to make sure all of the children are fitted properly. The companies that we order from require us to place uniform and equipment orders by the end of May. Therefore, we cannot wait until late summer to register. We also need time to get the players into teams so that we can let the MCJFL scheduler know how many teams we have so that he may get the schedule made out.
